2020 Calendar
The AMEB SA & NT calendar has undergone some exciting changes.

What are the main changes?
- Level 1 and 2 practical music sessions in metropolitan Adelaide will run almost back-to-back from 14th March to 8th November 2020, excluding public holidays.
- These sessions will be available to Private Venues
- These sessions will also be available at the University of Adelaide (Central Venue), weekdays and Saturdays. At the Central Venue sessions:
- piano candidates can be examined in any of these sessions, and
- all other practical music subjects will be available as indicated in specific sessions. For example, “Orchestral Strings” can be examined in April Session 2, July Session 1, August Session 2, October Session 1 (as well as the Mature Age and Supplementary Sessions). Please refer to the Handbook for more information on the calendar and instrumental groupings.
- These exams could be scheduled Monday to Saturday.
- Dates for Music Diploma exams have shifted slightly and Performance Evaluation dates differ per subject.
- There is an additional Rockschool session 14th to 15th March 2020.
- The August 19th ‘Paper-based’ Theory Session is available for Speech Theory, Music Craft Grades 5 & 6 only. Theory of Music Grades 1 to 6 exams are available ‘On Application.’ Please refer to the Handbook for more information.
- The Supplementary Session for practical music will run longer.
- There are no longer dedicated Upright Piano sessions. Instead, piano candidates up to (and including) Grade 5 who wish to be examined at the Adelaide Central Venue (The University of Adelaide) will likely be examined on an upright piano. Please refer to the Handbook for more information.
- Sundays are no longer available at the University of Adelaide (Central Venue) except for Diploma exams, as advertised.
- Closing dates are easy to remember - they are either the 1st or 15th of a month.
